Depending on resources outside of the city is not a long-term plan. HeightsNEXT strives to learn best practices for sustainability, such as renewable energy, water conservation, waste reduction, composting, recycling, urban farming, pollution reduction, local currencies, and more. We focus on household habits, spending practices, and advocate for smarter investments by our municipal government.

Did you know our city has a composting program? Curbside pick up starts in April 2018, but you can also drop off your compost at the Columbia Heights Recycling Center every Saturday morning and it works great! We love it! So easy! Less waste in landfills, and we pay less for garbage pick up too!

If you would like to get started (for free!) Just call Jesse at public works 763-706-3706 and he will set you up!
