A staunch supporter of grassroots organizations and neighborhood involvement, Amada has continually worked to connect
people for over 20 years. She gave exceptional service to the Girl Scouts of the USA, first as a Leader, then Trainer, and finally as a Encampment Weekend Planner (300+ girls and parents). In Columbia Heights she volunteers with the Neighborhood Watch program, Lions Club, Feed My Starving Children, SACA, a variety of volunteer efforts through her local church, and she sits on the Columbia Heights Community Education Advisory Board. With a goal of sustainability, resiliency, and neighborliness, Amada sees HeightsNEXT as the best way to connect community members with the city administration, and with each other. Professionally, Amada is the Communication, Publication, and Membership Coordinator at St. Philip’s Church in Fridley. Amada likes to spend time with her family, gardening, cooking, exercising, and all things art.
